Biography

Lasse Elkjaer holds a masters diploma from The Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts in Film Scoring, have studied at the Pacific Northwest Film Scoring Program lead by film composer Hummie Mann (Dracula: Dead And Loving It. Dir. Mel Brooks) and was honoured with a first prize at Berlingske Tidenes Rhytmical Talent Competition by the Danish jazz musicians Mikkel Nordsoe, Nils Henning Ørsted Pedersen and Cæcilie Norby by his performance of an instrumental composition he especially wrote for the event.

As a film composer, Lasse Elkjaer have scored three award winning movies, about 23 short-films which have been touring film festivals all over the world, and recently doing additional orchestrations for the feature film Dead Man Down. The movie is directed by Nils Arden Oplev, starring Colin Farrel and Naomie Rapace with music by Danish composer Jacob Groth (The Girl With The Dragon Tatoo.)
